[Review] Diorskin Forever | And Ever Makeup Primer Base & Perfect Makeup Fluid Foundation

We openly admits that we are a Dior fan, period. We have come to enjoy the brand since some time last year and it has been a wonderful journey thus far (discover it here). Today, we would love to share with you our little experience using this range that is new to us from Dior - The new Diorskin Forever, which we had the pleasure to try out - The Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Makeup Primer & Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup (Everlasting Wear Pore-Refining Effect) Fluid Foundation.

This Diorskin Forever makeup range has been reinvented to provide continued correction as well as matte and fresh finish that supposedly last for 16 hours. Of course, there is another product within this range, which is the Diorskin Forever and Ever Control Loose Powder, but that will come in our future post, coupled with another sculpting beauty product from Dior, in due time *_^

The Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Makeup Primer (30ml at MYR170)
Comes in a lovely simple bottle, this makeup primer is one that is gorgeous, to us, at least. A universal shade, milky texture with a pinkish tint, it smooths onto the skin effortlessly and is able to even out the skin tone well, in a sense that it is able to blur out our open pores around the nose and cheek area.

Spread a thin layer over the face and it will be a good base to start off with, for it will help to make our makeup last longer. It is not sticky and feels lightweight on our combination skin, leaving it with a really slight glow, ever so undetectably but nonetheless, the effect is there, which we totally love. Natural indeed. It also comes with SPF20, PA++ so there is a little sun protection there. Here for more.

Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup (Everlasting Wear Pore-Refining Effect) Fluid Foundation (30ml at MYR205)
Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director of Dior Makeup, defines the infallible Diorskin Forever foundation in terms of an active woman who seeks a product "on which she can count, with the right mattness and the right coverage". It is supposed to refine the skin texture and naturally controls shine. Though we are not a huge fan of matte finishing look on our face, but the "right" mattness seems appealing to us to try it out. It is also good that it comes with an SPF30, PA+++.

Comes in a study luxurious looking glass pump bottle, with its signature Diorskin wording embossed designed silver rim, this foundation is a crowd pleaser, aesthetically. Available in 12 shades, which is a pretty wide selection, the one we have is 030 Medium Beige, seen here. This fluid's texture is light and melting upon application, with its non-oily formula, glides away beautifully with fingers. Perhaps this gorgeous sensorial feel and texture are due to its skincare essence. We noticed pores are slightly tightened and blurred away, thanks to its formula that is enriched with the Activ-Mat™Complex. to give a more beautiful and smooth-looking skin. It has a velvety matte finish that does not look drying or caky and does not require powdering, if you wish so. It is definitely a joy to use. Here for more.

This fluid foundation adapts to all skin tones and can also be applied using the new Backstage Blender applicator, especially designed to go with this foundation for precision application. Inspired by the Dior techniques at backstage, this egg-shaped with a beveled side sponge was designed to adapt to the face's different zones and forms. With its high-density and soft touch material, it allows for better control. Of course, we noticed one will use more product this way with the sponge. How to use? Flat side to spread and blend the liquid foundation, rounded side is to build coverage and optimise coverage (with dabbing motion) and finally, the tip or pointed end is for any delicate or hollow areas like around the nose and lips. The sponge is retailed at MYR60 and is sold separately. The finishing look with the sponge is definitely more polished we feel. Here for more.

As for the longevity of the foundation, it holds up for us fairly well, up to 6 or 8 hours, depending on what we do for the day. As we have combination skin, most foundation would not last even that long and we are one who is not to fussy about long wear as we still believe one needs to touch up after a certain period of time. 16 hours? Most definitely not for us due to the weather and skin type, but with a little dusting of the Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder around our T-Zone area, it will last a tad longer *_^

Thanks Dior Malaysia for the love and here to discover more about the brand and here to follow DiorMakeup on Instagram, where we get all the latest updates on the wonderful world of Dior beauty! Stay tuned for our future post on the other two Dior beauty products.

Till then, have a luminous and happy weekend ahead, lovelies *_^

With love,
Jeann

  1. ''Milky texture with a pinkish tiny'' sounds wonderful when it comes to the primer, and especially as I've been wanting to try one sometime (I've been very, very slow to jump aboard the primer-train, haha). This Dior version sounds so impressive, particularly when it comes to helping even out skin tone :) Your photography is beautifully fresh, light and feminine in this post, by the way!

  4. Right matteness, huh? How would you describe the degree of matteness this product gives? I know we both enjoy dewy foundations, so I am really interested to know your thoughts regarding this matter.

And that reminds me, I need to pick up the Backstage Blender! I have been meaning to since last year, but I get derailed by other exciting stuff once I reach the mall *darts eyes*

    1. haha don't we get distracted all the time when we hit the mall, dearie? Oh that right matteness for me is that it doesn't look all cakey and powdery like some liquid to powder type of liquid foundation. I don't exactly know how to explain the degree of mattness, but it just looks all natural on my skin! haha

Hope this answer your question *_^
